The Reeds at Shelter Haven
A Proud Partner of the Beachcomber, The Reeds at Shelter Haven has something for everyone. Enjoy world-class seafood and steaks at SAX or stop by Water Star Grille for bayfront dining. Grab a quick bite and coffee at Café Cubos, tacos and margaritas at Buckets, or pizza and pub favorites with stunning views at Stone Harbor Pizza Pub.
The Diving Horse
The Diving Horse brings a unique “farm-to-table” vibe to Avalon. Like many restaurants in the area, this establishment focuses heavily on seafood. Signature dishes include scallops, bluefin tuna, and a “catch of the day” that always keeps you guessing. That said, The Diving Horse also offers plenty of All-American, non-seafood favorites. These include Wagyu short rib, sausage, and cheesy potatoes. Expect a slightly higher price point but impeccable service.
Polpo Ristorante
Spice up your visit to Stone Harbor with a reservation at Polpo Ristorante. This Italian restaurant features familiar classics like cannoli, calamari, and carbonara. There is something here for everyone, whether you want to savor the local seafood or keep it simple with Bolognese. You will also find plenty of vegetarian dishes, such as risotto alla funghi and pasta pomodoro. Do not forget to save room for dessert options like tiramisu and cheesecake.
Chanterelle
Named after one of the most delicious mushrooms known to mankind, this “modern American” restaurant is one of Stone Harbor’s gems. Despite its American leanings, it features plenty of dishes with global influences. Highlights include west coast halibut, pork chops, and of course, plates of roasted wild mushrooms. You can also opt for a five-course tasting menu if you are feeling adventurous (and extra hungry!). Be aware that this establishment caters to more formal guests with a basic dress code. You also won’t find many child-friendly options here.
Toastique
As its name implies, this restaurant is famous for its “gourmet toast.” While many of the other names on this list only serve dinner, this location is open for breakfast and brunch. Expect high-quality espresso, cold-pressed juice, smoothies, and even iced collagen lattes. This place clearly caters to a younger generation, so definitely stop by if you are missing your avocado toast back home.
